🌿 Tillandsia streptophylla is a species of air plant in the Bromeliaceae
family, native to Central America and Mexico. It features distinctive, curly,
silvery-green leaves that twist and curl when dry, loosening when hydrated.
This epiphytic plant absorbs moisture and nutrients through its leaves, making
it ideal for growing without soil. It's often used in decorative arrangements
due to its unique form and adaptability. In bloom, it produces a colorful
inflorescence with pink to purple hues.
Â
* Light: Provide bright, indirect light. It thrives near a sunny window or under full-spectrum grow lights. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight for extended periods.
* Watering: Water once or twice a week by soaking in room-temperature water for 20–30 minutes. Shake off excess water and let it dry completely within 4 hours to prevent rot. In humid environments, reduce watering frequency.
* Air Circulation: Ensure good airflow around the plant. This helps it dry properly and stay healthy.
* Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%). In drier climates, mist occasionally can help supplement moisture, but avoid overdoing it.
* Temperature: Keep it in a warm environment, ideally between 60–85°F (16–29°C). Protect from frost.
* Fertilizing: Use a bromeliad or air plant-specific fertilizer diluted to ¼ strength once a month during the growing season.
* Mounting: It can be mounted on wood, shells, or other non-soil surfaces. Just make sure the base dries quickly after watering.

With the right care, Tillandsia streptophylla can live for several years and
may even produce pups (offsets) and bloom.
